Privacy Policy

This is a pre-release policy draft. Before App Store submission, verify it against the app’s actual Firebase configuration, authentication methods, analytics/crash reporting, notification setup, and any other third-party SDKs.

otorae is a music journal and social service. This Privacy Policy explains the types of information that may be processed when you use otorae and how that information is used.

Information you provide

Account information: email address, username, display name, and profile information.
Content you create: album ratings, reviews, Want to Listen entries, favorite artists, and other profile or journal content.
Social activity: follows and interactions with users or content.
Safety information: blocks, reports, and information you send when contacting support.

Information processed automatically

otorae and its service providers may process technical information needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service. Depending on the final app configuration, this may include app or device information, timestamps, diagnostic information, and identifiers used for authentication or security.

How information is used

Information is used to provide and maintain the service, authenticate accounts, display profiles and user-created content, enable social features, prevent abuse, respond to support requests, enforce community rules, and improve reliability and safety.

Public information

Information you choose to publish through a public profile or public review may be visible to other users.

Service providers

otorae uses third-party infrastructure and service providers to operate the app, including Firebase services provided by Google. These providers may process information on otorae’s behalf subject to their own terms and privacy practices.

Music catalog information

otorae may retrieve album, artist, artwork, and related catalog metadata from third-party music data providers.

Sale of personal information

otorae does not sell personal information.

Retention and deletion

Information is kept for as long as needed to operate the service and meet legitimate security, moderation, legal, or record-keeping needs. You can request account deletion using the in-app account deletion feature. Some limited information may be retained where necessary for security, abuse prevention, dispute resolution, or legal obligations.

Security

Reasonable technical and organizational measures are used to protect information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

Changes

This policy may be updated as otorae develops. The “Last updated” date will be revised when material changes are made.
